Beer Ratings

Arrogant Bastard, Arrogant Bastard Brewery 7.2%
Dark amber colour. Very hoppy with some caramel/citrus notes in the back. Quite a sweet aftertaste

Big Job, St Austell Brewery 7.2%
This beer was recommended by a fellow Ale lover. After searching in several independent shops for this bottle I eventually got my hands on one. I was expecting big things as I love the 'Proper Job' and this was described as its 'better brother'. It was very bitter and malty and quite a dark ale, and at 7.2% it warmed my cockles on a chilly night!
7/10

Blandford Flyer, 'Badger' (Hall & Woodhouse) 5.2%
As Laura's Dad always likes to remind people 'It goes great with a curry'! It is not for everyones taste as it is quite sweet and sticky. It also has a strong ginger aftertaste. Very easy to drink.
7/10

Boiling Well, Ludlow Brewing Co 4.7%
One of my favorite breweries as it is only 15 mins from where I was brought up. Dad always finds time to pop into the brewery when he visits Aldi! A really quaffable crisp blonde ale. Mild citrus aftertaste, slight sweet notes, dry finish.
6/10

Complete Muppetry, Two Towers Brewery 4.3%
Draught at Cannon Hill Foodies Festival (Birmingham) Crystal clear amber. Medium bitter taste with a bitter finish, smooth and malty. Head was bubbly and bright white. Staff who poured this pint were polite and chatty.
7/10

Cwrw Teifi, Mantle Brewery, 4.5%
Was bought this one by Laura's uncle and Auntie who live in St Davids. An OK beer, almost clear amber, semi dry finish and some toffee/caramel notes. Bitter after taste.
6/10

Egger Lager, Privatbrauerei 5.2%
I had this lager in Austria after a long day on the ski slopes. I don't usually drink lager by choice but the Austrian wheat beers were casing havoc with my insides so I had to swap! As lagers go it was actually ok. Quite bitter but refreshing at the same time.
4/10

Golden-Age, Celt Experience 4.2%
A light and fruity ale. Slightly malty with subtle notes of citrus. Very light head which stayed well. Not the best as it was pretty bland but still a half decent quaff.
5/10

Hens Tooth, Greene King 6.5%
Slightly sweet with a light bitter taste. Pours in a light caramel colour which is crystal clear. Long lasting light frothy head. Quite a nice drop, easy to drink.
6/10

IPA, Greene King 3.6%
Light caramel colour, slightly sweet. Some tangy side notes. Easy to drink. Not the best but can't complain as it is a cheap beer.

3/10

India Pale Ale, Goose Island 5.9%
I have to say, this is one of the better bottled beers I have tried in quite a long time. It is a quite hoppy beer with clear citrus notes. It had a deep flavour and a beer that I will definitely have again.
8/10

Kentish Ale, Shepherds Neame 4.5%

Quite dry and bitter. Easy to drink, nothing special about this ale, quite boring on the palette.
3/10

Old Contemptible, Caledonian Brewery 4.8%
Deep walnut colour with a clean white head. In regards to taste it has some caramel notes with mild hoppy flavours. A pretty standard ale but nice enough.
5/10

Pedigree, Marstons 4.5%
A slightly caramel/sweet ale. Some small citrus notes in the aftertaste. A standard bitter but an easy drinker. Not unpleasant

6/10

Riders on the Storm, Kelham Island Brewery 4.5%
This was the first time that I have tried a beer from this brewery and I was not disappointed. It was clean and crisp and very mild. It gave my taste buds a kick, but at the same time was light and easy to drink. A nice pale ale which went well with my Sunday dinner!

7/10

Sunbeam, Banks's Brewery 4.2%
I love a blonde beer, so when I saw this on draught at the local pub, it was an easy choice! Zesty and refreshing. Very light and easy to quaff. Enjoyed this with a BBQ in the sun!
5/10

Pure Hoppiness, Alpine Beer Company 8.0%
Creamy bubbly head, slightly deepish orange color, citrus and herbs aroma, some fruit  and herbs aroma with some sweetness in the back, quite strong but mellow bitterness, light sweetness. Nice and drinkable

6/10

Yorkshire Stingo, Samuel Smith 8.0%
Plenty of depth in this caramel coloured ale. Big hit of orange with some toffee notes. Slighlty dry with an oaky aftertaste. Not as good as I was hoping, but not a bad beer at all.
5/10
